Unfortunately Urbanrevs does not have a scholarship program. The good news is that we do provide significant discounts for ministry partners in regions like Africa, Asia or South America.

If you have a Christian ministry or church community in one of these regions please send us an email with your ministry detail, including your website, email, senior leader or Minister, and any mission prospectus, requesting a discount coupon.

If you are looking to become a community chaplain, sports chaplain, shopping centre chaplain or one of the other many business and local community based chaplains then this course is for you. It’s important to remember that many of the organisations accrediting chaplains have additional bespoke training requirements. Urbanrevs is in partnership with a growing list of organisations.

Great question! Yes. This course is definitely for you. Urbanrevs has been created with the everyday follower of Jesus in mind. It’s made for both practical people and intellectual people. It has some great tools to use immediately and will challenge thinkers to approach mission a little differently – but biblically. See more here.

No. Urbanrevs is not an evangelism course per se. However, we are passionate about helping people share their faith about Jesus in an authentic and relevant way.

Urbanrevs comes at it from a different angle. When it comes to seeing Jesus’s grace and mercy intersect our community it often requires that we consider how we might respond in various ‘roles’. Maybe a priest? Maybe a pastor/shepherd? As God’s spokesperson? Sometimes as an ambassador, or simply just being present. That is, ‘Christ in us, the hope of Glory’. Sometimes people need a pastor, a prophet, a priest, or a prince. However, they always need your presence to be able to respond to Jesus. You’ll be ready no matter what is required. The impact is obvious and lasting. God’s kingdom comes to people powerfully.

Urbanrevs holds strongly to a Jesus-centred, bible-orientated, evangelical Kingdom-come world view. At the most rudimentary we confess the Apostles Creed. However, we intentionally remain strongly neutral and unaligned when it comes to denominations and theology. Our network is made up of all colours and brands of the Christian church across the globe. Urbanrevs is passionate about effective missiology and ultimately helping God’s people become intentional, authentic and effective in inviting those who are out of relationship with God to find it by faith in God’s only son Jesus Christ. This is more than a fleeting transaction – it is a living, present relationship with our Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ.

For those seeking certification, Urbanrevs provides trainees with a bespoke registered Urbanrevs Certificate upon successful completion of all our courses. Urbanrevs ministry partners willingly accept these certificates as contributing to their recognition of prior learning (RPL). For example, Life Bridge Community Chaplaincy. If your association or mission would like to discuss ministry partnership please have them contact us.

It’s our hope that for most people undertaking Urbanrevs the authenticity and effectiveness of our training results in genuine recognition.

Unfortunately Urbanrevs doesn’t provide CPE credit upon completion. However, if you’re keen to become an official chaplain, or what is usually referred to as a ‘Professional’ Chaplain we would encourage you to pursue further training like CPE or various certificate courses such as a Certificate 4 in Chaplaincy. It’s helpful to note that Urbanrevs is wholly focused on the ‘Community’ sector not the ‘Public’ or ‘Private’ institutional sector like hospitals, education and emergency services. (However, we regularly get told by those groups that they really enjoy the practical nature and paradigm of Urbanrevs training.)

The course units range from 8 minutes to 25 minutes with an average of around 14 minutes. You could complete the course in less than a day. At a minimum you could do the course in 5-6 hours but with reflection and quizzes 8-10 hours would be preferred. You can even spread the course over 8-10 night sessions if you are doing it after hours or in a group.

The course has been designed for you to work through the content as an individual (with a workbook) or as a group (with the workbook and a local facilitator).

We encourage churches and agencies undertaking the course in groups to have a facilitator. Facilitators can lead conversations around the course content. They can also assist with role playing. A facilitator can be any mature Christian leader, pastor, trainer, small group leader.

If you are undertaking the course alone and would like a facilitator, we would encourage you to ask your church to help by running a group with a facilitator. Alternatively, why not ask a friend to join you in the course and discuss the reflection questions provided in the workbook.

2) At the payment page >PASTE the Coupon Code in the area provided. This will zero the course cost and you can proceed completing the course. See Image 2 below.

This is an exciting question. Churches and mission groups are finding various ways to deliver Urbanrevs training.

• You can provide a coupon to every member and have them undertake the training online individually
• You can meet in a small group and run the training on a TV and discuss the lesson ideas (2-3 per session)
• You can meet in a large group 30-50 and project the lessons in a classroom format
• Some churches engage their leadership (Overseers / ministry leaders) first
• Once they have completed and discussed the course you can have your congregation complete the course – with your leaders as group facilitators. See Sheep to Shepherds below.

There is a new version of Urbanrevs called Sheep to Shepherds (in beta development) for churches. You can run an abridged Urbanrevs course during church services over 10 weeks. It requires you to break into smaller circles for 10-20 minutes. Please contact us if you would like to run Sheep to Shepherds at your church.

To get access your course certificate please ensure every lesson is fully completed (100%). This is the key! Once this has been done you will receive access to your certificate in your portal and you will also receive an email notifying you of completion.

Yes. You can upgrade from the small group to the large group. Just deposit the balance ($249.00) via our Stripe payment page or scan the QR code here (with your phone/device), answer the two qualifying questions (your church and course coupon code) and your upgrade will be later confirmed.

When you purchase the small group (10/12m/$250) training course for 10 students and want to upgrade to the Large Group (100/12m/$499) you will receive as a bonus a top-up of months of the old seats to match the new group period (12m) plus a bonus month (+1m).

There are many ways to approach Urbanrevs for churches. One model which works well is to engage your entire leadership/ small group team in the online Urbanrevs Course. Give them time to debrief and discuss the content round a table. It may challenge some from a more traditional missional/ ministry mindset. But that’s OK. Once your leadership have gone the journey then have your congregation complete the course and provide round-table feedback.
